This study aimed to determine the effect of nonsurgical periodontal treatment on glomerular filtration rate systemically healthy patients. The prospective, longitudinal, comparative and experimental study was conducted in a hospital in the city of Cajamarca have included a total of 42 patients divided into 2 groups of 21 patients comprised of patients diagnosed with chronic periodontitis and systemically healthy patients without systemically healthy chronic periodontitis who received nonsurgical periodontal treatment divided into three phases, in which the glomerular filtration rate was determined before, immediately after and one month after non-surgical periodontal treatment. The results show that non-surgical periodontal treatment has a positive effect on glomerular filtration rate, there are also positive developments in the GFR between the three shots: before treatment, immediately after treatment and one month after treatment; both men and women. It is observed that in 20 patients (95.24%) there is an increase in glomerular filtration rate and in 1 patient (4.76%) did not change for the experimental group is evident, whereas for the control group there are positive developments not very significant in GFR between the three shots: before treatment, 7 immediately after treatment and one month after treatment; also observed in 5 patients (23.81%) are increased glomerular filtration rate in 13 patients (61.90%) and no change was evident in 3 (14.29%) patients there is a decrease the rate of glomerular filtration. It is concluded that non-surgical periodontal treatment significantly influences positively in the glomerular filtration rate systemically healthy patients diagnosed with periodontitis.
