The objective of this thesis is to design and implement a system of detection of thunderstorms, to prevent total stoppage in the area of operations of Minera Yanacocha SRL - Cajamarca. To achieve this objective, the Tor Guard detector was chosen for its wide electromagneticfield detection capabilities. To connect the sensors, it will use the star topology with a singlecentral node, we chose to use the RS232 communication protocol and TCP / IP. A SCADA system was developed as monitoring software for integration and good SDTE performance, which enables the sensor readings, processing and storing the received information in adatabase to be sent and processed boards in events alerts for electrical storms (clear skies, yellow alert, red alert, etc.) these reports are exported in PDF, Word and Excel format. Thesoftware was installed on a PC that is monitored by the Security Control Center (CCS). It concluded that it could satisfactoraly be achieved the development of the controllableautomated system with an acceptable rensponse time. It was also noticed that this system willsafeguard the physical integrity of the workers, generating more profits for the company.
