To evaluate the antibacterial efficacy in vitro by counting colony forming units (CFU) and the extent of inhibition halos of Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera) natural gel, 2% chlorhexidine gel and calcium hydroxide on Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212. Materials and Methods: A prospective, longitudinal, comparative and experimental study. 2 gels and 2 combinations were evaluated, for which 14 samples each for both were used. Statistical test was used by analysis of variance and multiple comparison test of Duncan, to compare and determine the antibacterial efficacy, with a level of statistical significance of 0.05. Results: Aloe vera gel didn´t present effectiveness as UFC and inhibition Halos, the combination of Aloe Vera gel and calcium hydroxide neither has efficacy according UFC however generated sensitivity as measured to inhibition Halos; chlorhexidine gel 2% pure and its combination with calcium hydroxide were effective on Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 as UFC and zones of inhibition. Conclusions: The gel of Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) and pure combination with calcium hydroxide hasn´t significant antibacterial effect against Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 as UFC counting and measuring inhibition halos compared to 2% chlorhexidine gel and pure combination with calcium hydroxide that effect occurs.
