The present study had as objective to establish the prevalence of clinical alterations of the dental structure in drug-dependent patients in recovery of 18-50 years of age in the province of Trujillo. The type of study is prospective, transverse, descriptive and observational; a sample of 104 drug-dependent patients from six different Rehabilitation Centers that met the inclusion criteria was collected in August 2017; being submitted to a test to evaluate the level of dependence to nicotine, questionnaires to evaluate the criteria of abuse and dependence to alcohol and the other to evaluate the type of drug (s) consumed and the time of consumption; and a stomatological record to diagnose the clinical alterations of the dental structure. The Chi-Square parametric test was used with a significance level of 5%. The results showed a higher prevalence of clinical alterations of the dental structure in drug-dependent patients 18-25 years of age, who consume mostly Marihuana-PBC, with a minimum consumption time of 1-5 years, the dental group (37%), Abfraction are Premolar (38%), Attrition are Incisors-Canine-Premolar (44%) and Erosion are Canine Incisors (66%), the most affected are AcisionCanine-Premolar the area most affected with respect to Abrasion and Abfraction is 94% and 80% respectively; according to the degree of attrition, for Incisors and Canines is grade 3, for premolars is grade 2 and for molars is grade 3 and 5; according to the degree of erosion, is higher grade in incisors and canines with grade 2, and for premolars and molars is grade 0; and according to Caries Index (CPOD) a high risk of 18.42 was obtained. It is concluded that all patients consuming drug (s) with a minimum time of one year of consumption will present clinical alterations of the dental structure.
