Objective. To determine if Asymptomatic Bacteriuria in pregnancy first quarter is a risk factor for preterm delivery in the Hospital of Chancay during the period January - December 2016. Material and method. An analytic, observational, of cohorts, retrospective study was carried out. The study population consisted of 217 pregnant women aged 18 and 35 who had their deliveries during the January - December 2016 period, which were recorded in the Chancay Hospital Prenatal Surveillance System, which met the established selection criteria. Chi square test, t student, Fisher exact test and odds ratio was applied to demonstrate significantassociation between the variables. Results. There were not apparent or significant differences in relation to maternal age, pregestational weight and pregestational BMI between preterm and full-term pregnant women. The incidence of preterm delivery in women with asymptomatic bacteriuria were 2,94%, meanwhile the incidence of term delivery in pregnant women with asumptomatic bacteriuria were 97,06%. Asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy first quarter has no statistical significance with preterm delivery, p> 0.05. Conclusions. Asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy first quarter is not a risk factor for preterm delivery at Hospital de Chancay.
