mayor de 4 kg (OR 3.07).
kilos.
OBJECTIVE: To determine which are the most influential factors associated with an emergency cesarean section at Hospital Víctor Lazarte de Trujillo, 2015. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A retrospective, observational, analytical study was carried out on 199 pregnant women who had their birth at Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray between January and December of 2015. RESULTS: Of the total number of pregnant women, 116 completed vaginal delivery (58.3%), 49 in elective cesarean section (24.6%) and 34 in emergency cesarean section (17.1%). The history of previous cesarean section is the most frequent indication for a cesarean delivery with an OR of 1.95 (CI 1.03 to 2.87). The most influential factors for an emergency cesarean section were acute fetal distress (OR 40.39) and fetal weights greater than 4 kg (OR 3.07).
