The Project it was producing by the division of the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo, a work that was executed in improving walkability services on the Ricardo Palma street, which included the creation of a flexible pavement with a linear length of 1.63 km. The flexible pavement was designed considered in two sections, the first, from the progressive 00 + 000 with reference South America Avenue to the progressive 00 + 800 Victor Andres Belaúnde Avenue.; considered the second tranche from the progressive 00 + 800 to 1 + 630 progressive at the intersection of Industrial Road. In the field of the second tranche was no organic filler and the ground support was a slightly plastic clay, in order to lower the cost of the layer of the sub base (and / or improvement of the land), it was decided to place a biaxial geogrid, as the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo, this material available in stock. This thesis development, taking as the basis the information provided by the geotechnical laboratory and technical file, perform the calculation report for the design of a flexible pavement by the AASHTO 93 method and the Asphalt Institute, in order to focus the issue on a comparative analysis of both methods.
