This research was conducted in 10 mares jump and collision between 4-12 years of age, belonging to the Historical Police Mounted Unit District Rimac Lima – Peru, which underwent ultrasound examination to assess the cervix, uterine horns and ovaries. Veterinary use an ultrasound Pie Medical 485 Anser® bifrecuencial transrectal linear transducer with 6 and 8 MHz was used. It was determined that follicular growth at the beginning of estrus (17.5 days) was 32 mm and the time of ovulation (23.5 days) of 46.2 mm, with an average daily growth of 2.4 mm which would predict the day ovulation. The duration of the estrous cycles had a correlation with follicular size, being the shortest 22 days and the longest 28 days, with an average of 24.8 days. Measuring the degree of endometrial edema reflected relation to follicular growth, determining a degree 3 to the manifestation of zeal and grade 5 on day 20 of the cycle and then show the disappearance of edema at day 24, close to ovulation time.
