In this clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of amoxicillin before and after surgery to prevent infection in postoperative third molar surgery. The study was conducted in the dental service hospital I of The Future , the 99 participating patients were randomized into 3 groups of 33 patients each with criteria , group 1 was administered 2 grams of amoxicillin one hour before intervention , group 2 was administered amoxicillin 500mg and 500mg immediately after every 08 hours for 4 days . And group 3 will not I administer any antibiotic. Pain (VAS), oral temperature, and drainage from the socket: effectiveness in preventing infection with respect to three parameters is measured. For statistical analysis of data comparison test was used for proportions, using the normal distribution with a level of significance of 5%. The results allow us to conclude that there was no difference between the pre -and postoperative administration of amoxicillin, however recommend similar studies in older populations.
