This descriptive study, transverse and observational, aimed to determine the level of knowledge of oral health in parents of children with special abilities district of Trujillo, 2015. The sample consisted of 192 parents of children with special abilities that had 1 to 18 years and study at one of the special educational institutions in the district of Trujillo. It was found that the level of knowledge of oral health in parents of children with special abilities was regularly (40.10%). The level of knowledge of oral health in parents of children with special abilities was regularly (46.55%) by gender and no statistically significant difference. Depending on the age level of knowledge was regularly being 41.46% and 41.27% for groups of 20-30 and 30-45 years, respectively, significant differences exist with the parent group of 45 years to more 36.17% (p = 0.0425) . Also, as the level of education it was found that the level of knowledge was regularly being 33.78% for primary level, 47.89% for secondary, and 38.30% for top level there significant difference between the primary level the secondary and higher education (p = 0.0289). Concluding that the level of knowledge of oral health in parents of children with special abilities was regularly being necessary to implement activities on school workshops personal hygiene oral hygiene including parents and children with special abilities
