Black, green and red and a control for controlling Prodiplosis longifila, these were installed on the seedlings of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus): In this paper the effect of three types of mesh was evaluated. The work was done in the Campus II of Private University Antenor Orrego; Laredo - Trujillo - La Libertad. No statistical design with three treatments (meshes black, red and green) and a control (only covered at the top with a white mesh to prevent the effect of shading). The percentage of germination, hypocotyl height, Prodiplosis longifila damage, dry and fresh weights of healthy seedlings and damaged and length of stems and roots were analyzed. To determine the effect of mesh on the incidence of Prodiplosis lonfigila comparison test was performed t-student. The results show that the mesh of green and black colored decreased the percentage of damage Prodiplosis longifila in watermelon seedlings by 36% relative to the control. It is concluded that the effect of the green and black tights are efficient in reducing damage Prodiplosis longifila in watermelon seedling.
