Meet the antibacterial effects Apis mellifera honey on the growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study is an experimental, prospective, comparative design. The population consisted of crops resistant Staphylococcus aureus methicillin. The unit of analysis the inhibition halos were the product of antibacterial effect of honey from Apis mellifera and antibiotic used against Staphylococcus aureus methicillin resistant. Method dilution tubes and susceptibility testing was employed, using the disk diffusion method using Mueller Hinton medium. RESULTS: In the study the concentrations of 50% were used and 100% honey of Apis mellifera performing ten repetitions for each concentration and each test, vancomycin was used as a control, the average disk halos 50% was 6.2 mm with DS 0.26, 100% showed a mean of 10.55 with DS 1.17 and with an average halo vancomycin 23.6 with DS 1.17, showed no inhibitory effect at concentration of 50%, while the concentration was 100% inhibition significant, the value of significance “p“ was <0.000 CONCLUSIONS: It is concluded that Apis mellifera honey 100% has in vitro inhibitory activity on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus methicillin resistant.
