Determine if acute renal injury is a risk factor associated to mortality in patients with penetrating abdominal trauma at Belen Trujillo Hospital. Methods: Was conduced a analitic, observational, retrospective, cohorts investigation. The study population was conformed for 110 patients with penetrating abdominal trauma inclusion and exclusion criteries distributed in 2 groups: with or without acute renal injury. Results:The frequency of mortality between with and without acute renal injury were 20% y 7% respectively. Acute renal injury relative risk related to mortality was 2.75 (p<0.05). Conclusions: Acute renal injury is a risk factor associated to mortality in patients with penetrating abdominal trauma at Belen Trujillo Hospital. No significative statistical differences were meeting between both groups of study.
