Objective: Determine if nomophobia is related to the risk of eating disorders in medical students. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional analytical design in which a virtual survey was distributed to 300 medical students from Antenor Orrego Private University, ranging from the first to the twelfth academic semester, who met the selection criteria. Pearson's Chi-Square test was used for the results to determine the potential relationship between the variables under study. Results: Out of the total number of students analyzed, 100% exhibited nomophobia. Among them, the majority presented a moderate degree, accounting for 43%, while mild accounted for 34.7%, and severe for 22.3%. Additionally, of the total students, 12.3% showed a risk of eating disorders, which was associated with the severity level of nomophobia. A family history of eating behavior disorders was significantly linked with both nomophobia and the risk of eating disorders (with p-values of 0.01 and 0.006, respectively). On the other hand, female gender was associated with the risk of eating behavior disorders (p < 0.001). The Chi-Square test revealed a significant relationship between nomophobia and the risk of eating behavior disorders with a p-value of < 0.01. Conclusion: Nomophobia is related to the risk of eating disorders in medical students.
