The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the sociodemographic factors age, sex, level of education, father's education, number of lovers, family communication with the beginning of sexual activity of adolescents in Trujillo. A cross-sectional, analytical and observational investigation was carried out; The population was made up of Trujillo teenagers between 12 and 16 years old; A sample of 290 adolescents was selected, of which 52.4% are between 12 and 14 years old, 46.7% were female, 18.3% were in primary school and 81.7% in secondary school, 38.6% without a lover and the rest at least one, 60.7% of parents have higher education; 41% of families have no family communication and 34.5% have already started their sexual activity. The chi-square distribution was used to determine the relationship of sociodemographic factors with the onset of sexual activity in adolescents. As results, it was found that the age, the degree of education of the adolescent and the number of lovers, presented a significant relationship with the Beginning of Sexual Activities of Adolescents (p <0.05); and sex, father's education level, and family communication did not show a significant relationship with whether or not the adolescent had initiated his sexual activity (p> 0.05). Our research hypothesis was partially tested.
