Objective: To study the ophthalmological complications and blood glucose level in diabetic patients in Hospital III-1 ESSsalud José Cayetano Heredia. Piura 2018. Methodology: An observational, descriptive retrospective study, with secondary data analysis of patients with ophthalmological complications in diabetic patients of Hospital III-1 EsSalud Cayetano Heredia 2018. Results: In ophthalmological complications we found 50.75% of the patients (67 patients) of the sample that is in diabetic retinopathy, in terms of the degrees of diabetic retinopathy found in 27.27% of the cases (36 patients) that are they find in a degree of moderate non-proliferative retinopathy, followed by a degree of severe non-proliferative retinopathy with 16.66% (22 patients) and only 6.06% (8 patients) a degree of Proliferative retinopathy without high risk ,132 patients affected 53.78% were male ( 71 patients);With an average age it was 53.93 years between the ranges of 37 to 88 years. An average of 71.76 Kilos is estimated (range between 46.6 to 106 Kg.). For values such as size, the highest range found between 1.61 and 1.70 meters with 40.15% of the total number of patients; we found an average Body Mass Index of 26.67 among the 132 patients in the present study. Conclusions: Regarding the degrees of diabetic retinopathy, we found 27.27% of the cases (36 patients) that found a moderate degree of non-proliferative retinopathy,ocular complications caused by DM2 found 54.54% of the patients presented with dry eye (72 patients), followed by 31 patients (23.48%), It was observed that on average the 132 registered patients have 111.94 mg / dl of glucose who presented cataract.
