talla neonatal.
To verify the relationship between the mother's pregestational body mass index and the size and weight of the newborn. Material and Methods: A historical cohort design was carried out in a group of 313 medical records. Results: An average of 67.1 kg weight, 1.6 m height and 26.2 kg/m2 BMI was found and highlighted in the women studied; This value (26.2 Kg/m2), according to the WHO, would indicate a result of overweight. The results of the research found a r=0.716 and p<0.001 of the pregestational BMI of the mother with the weight of the newborn, and r=–0.138 and p<0.015 of the pregestational BMI of the mother with the neonatal height. Conclusions: The relationship between the mother's pregestational BMI and the weight of the newborn is concluded, this being a significant positive relationship; However, a significant negative relationship is found between pregestational BMI and the size of the newborn, which shows that the higher the mother's BMI, the smaller the neonatal size
