To determine if the previous cesarean section is a risk factor for premature rupture of the membrane in patients treated at the Hospital Belén de Trujillo, 2018. Material and methods: A retrospective analytical observational case-control study was carried out by selecting and reviewing 376 medical records, assigning 188 cases and 188 controls of pregnant women treated at the Hospital Belén de Trujillo in 2018. Results: It was found in the data analysis that in the group of patients with PROM, 36.7% have a history of previous cesarean section, while in the control group of patients without PROM, only 30.8% have such a history. Conclusion: Patients who had a Previous Cesarean Section have a 1.3 times higher risk of Premature Rupture of Membranes compared to patients who did not have a Previous Cesarean Section
