determined if type 2 diabetes mellitus is a predictor of the grade of differentiation in malignant prostate neoplasia. Material and Methods: A retrospective observational study of cases and controls was carried out. The study population consisted of 366 patients according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, established and distributed in two groups: 122 with undifferentiated Malignant Prostate Neoplasia and 244 with nonundifferentiated Malignant Prostate Neoplasia. Results: Statistical significance was found in the multivariate analysis in the diabetes mellitus variables with an OR = 2.45, with a p = 0.023, 95% CI (1.13 - 5.335) and age ≥ 65 years with an OR = 2.37, with a p = 0.003 , 95% CI (1,3364,237); on the other hand, the average PSA in patients with undifferentiated MPN was 40.7 ± 39.2 compared to those without undifferentiated MPN with 17.3 ± 9.7, P = 0.000. While obesity and diabetes treatment are not statistically significant with a P> 0.05. Conclusions: There is a statistically significant association in favor of type 2 diabetes mellitus as a predictor of the degree of differentiation in malignant prostate neoplasia.
