This study aimed to evaluate whether there are significant differences in the perception of onboarding among students of business administration and economics at a private university in Trujillo in 2023. For this purpose, the Z-test was used, as the sample size exceeded 30 participants, totaling 104 students, with 52 students from business administration and 52 from economics, all in the ninth and tenth semesters of their respective programs. The results indicated that there are significant differences in the perception of onboarding between business administration and economics students, suggesting that the academic program influences this perception. However, no significant differences were found in the perception of onboarding between male business administration students and male economics students, nor between male and female students within each program (business administration and economics). This suggests that gender is not an influential variable in the perception of onboarding among students of these disciplines. The research did not face significant limitations and successfully applied the instrument to the studied population. It is recommended, as an improvement, that the head of human resources closely monitor new employees and develop an appropriate onboarding process, given the multiple benefits that its proper implementation can bring
