Objective: Determine if psoriasis is a risk factor for ischemic heart disease in adult patients treated in the Cardiology service of the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital, 2016-2021. Materials and method: An observational and analytical case-control study was carried out using medical records of adult patients treated in the Cardiology service of the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital. The study included the participation of 144 patients diagnosed with ischemic heart disease and 144 patients without this condition. Results: Psoriasis was found in 43.1% of patients with ischemic heart disease and 56.9% of those without ischemic heart disease. A statistically significant association was found between psoriasis and ischemic heart disease (p< 0.001). Regarding risk factors, age, diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease showed a statistically significant relationship with ischemic heart disease (all with a p value < 0.05). In the multivariate analysis, a statistically significant association between age, arterial hypertension and dyslipidemia with ischemic heart disease was confirmed (p = 0.000). Conclusions: Psoriasis is a risk factor for ischemic heart disease. Age, diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and dyslipidemia are independent risk factors for developing ischemic heart disease
