Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación de abordaje cualitativo buscó describir e interpretar el significado del cuidado que brinda la enfermera intensivista desde la perspectiva del familiar cuidador en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Belén de Trujillo. Participaron en el estudio siete familiares cuidadores de pacientes críticos, la información se recolectó a través de una entrevista abierta usando la técnica de saturación y fue procesada mediante método Cualitativo- Fenomenológico de los cuales emergieron cinco categorías: trato adecuado, comunicación/ información, administración de tratamiento, limpieza/ higiene e incertidumbre. Entre las consideraciones finales más importantes se identificó que para el familiar responsable de los pacientes de la unidad crítica el significado del cuidado que brinda la enfermera intensivista se ve relacionado con un trato adecuado al paciente crítico, enfatizando en administrar un tratamiento oportuno, eficaz y que sirva para la mejoría del paciente, cuidar para el familiar es sinónimo de limpieza, de comunicación en el sistema Cuidador- Enfermero- Paciente crítico, así como también el cuidado que brinda la enfermera intensivista es una incertidumbre por realizarse en su mayoría bajo puertas cerradas como característica de la unidad.

This qualitative approach research work sought to describe and interpret the meaning of the care provided by the intensive care nurse from the perspective of the family caregiver in the Intensive Care Unit of the Belén de Trujillo Hospital. Seven family caregivers of critical patients participated in the study, the information was collected through an open interview using the saturation technique and was processed by Qualitative Phenomenological method from which five categories emerged: appropriate treatment, communication / information, administration of treatment, cleaning / hygiene and uncertainty. Among the most important final considerations, it was identified that for the family member responsible for the patients in the critical unit, the meaning of the care provided by the intensive care nurse is related to adequate treatment of the critical patient, emphasizing the administration of timely, effective treatment and that Serve for the improvement of the patient, caring for the family member is synonymous with cleanliness, communication in the Critical Care-Nurse-Patient system, as well as the care provided by the intensive care nurse is an uncertainty for being mostly under closed doors such as unit characteristic.
