abierto.
Our objective was to determine the factors associated with fear of falling in patients with primary open angle glaucoma at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology. Materials and methods: Our study is a cross-sectional analytical study, where patients with primary open-angle glaucoma were surveyed by FES-I to measure fear of falling and for the assessment of physical activity through IPAQ, where there were a total of 94 patients. , these patients were evaluated in the outpatient clinic of the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology during November 2023.. Results: This study included a total of 94 patients with a diagnosis of primary open-angle glaucoma, who were treated in the outpatient clinic of the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, where it was evident that age was the only variable associated with a (p 0.003) fear. when falling, while sex, peripheral visual disturbance, pathological history, previous falls, depression with antidepressant treatment, polypharmacy and physical activity had no significant association, with a (p 0.099), (p 0.112), (p 0.814), (p 0.052), (p 0.331), (p 0.234) and (p 0.054) respectively. Conclusions: Age is a factor associated with fear of falling, while sex, peripheral visual impairment, pathological history, previous falls, depression, polypharmacy and physical activity are not factors associated with fear of falling in patients. with primary open-angle glaucoma.
