Determinate if there is variation in lipid profile values in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who received hydroxychloroquine. Material and methods: A cohort design, retrospective, of 140 patients who were treated a the rheumatology outpatient office of the Victor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital between the months of January to October of 2019. The study population is made up of 2 groups, a group of 70 patients who received hydroxychloroquine and the other group of 70 patients who did not received hydroxychloroquine complying the selection criterio. Results: Comparing the percentage of patients who received and did not received hydroxychloroquine treatment, a decrease in total cholesterol and LDL was observed with a statistically significant difference (p= 0.0002 and p= 0.033 respectively) in the group who received HCQ; not so, with respect to the decrease in Triglycerides (p= 0.8606). There is not statistically significant difference regardin the risk of cardiovascular condition in patients who used hydroxychloroquine and those who did not (p= 0.5513 and p= 0.0618 respectively). Conclusion: It was determinate that there was a decrease in total cholesterol and LDL in the group of patients who received HCQ and there was not decrease in the group who did not received HCQ (p=0.0002 of CT and p=0.0033 of LDL), on the other hand, with respect to triglycerides there was no decrease (p=0.08606
