Objective: To analyze if there is influence of the exposure to the overflow of the Piura river and / or depression in the presence of post-traumatic stress at one year of the Coastal Child Phenomenon in minors from 8 to under 18. Methodology: Observational, analytical study, Retrospective cohort, with a total population of 92 participants distributed in, 30 exposed to the overflow of the Piura river and 62 not exposed. Frequencies and percentages were applied for categorical variables, Levenne test for bivariate analysis and multiple linear regression for multivariate analysis. Results: The exposed group presented a prevalence of moderate-severe post traumatic stress of 73.3% compared to 22.6% in the unexposed population. The unexposed population had a severe depression percentage of 4.8%. Overflow exposure increases the CPSS B score by 8.8 points: 8.8, p = 0.000, IC (5.7 to 11.8). Likewise, for each unit that increases the Birlenson depression score, the CPSS score (post-traumatic stress test) increases by 0.68 units. B: 0.686, p = 0.000, CI (0.401 to 0.971. Conclusion: The prevalence of severe moderate EFA in the exposed population was 73.3%. The prevalence of severe depression was much higher in the unexposed population. Predictive factors for CPSS score of posttraumatic stress were having been exposed to the overflow and Birlenson score.
