This research work consists of determining the seismic vulnerability of the houses in the Monserrate urbanization of the district of Trujillo, province of Trujillo, region of La Libertad; with the purpose of encouraging prevention actions against future seismic events, in order to protect the lives of its residents, according to RNE (NTE.030). In this way we use the Italian method of the Benedetti and Petrini Vulnerability Index, where it estimates a vulnerability index calculated based on the characteristics of the structure that most influence its seismic behavior, which are identified by eleven parameters that affect damage to buildings caused by the occurrence of seismic events. For the application of this method, a form was used which was modified, adapting the parameters to our standard. After applying the Benedetti and Petrini Vulnerability Index Method, we found that most homes have low to medium seismic vulnerability. As a complement to the method, we used the ETABS 2016.0.0 computer software, in this program the static analyzes of the dwellings were modeled and developed; giving as a result that they comply with having a drift of less than 0.007 in all their mezzanines as recommended in NTE0.30 In conclusion, the houses of the Monserrate urbanization that have been evaluated, present a low seismic vulnerability; therefore, in the event of an earthquake, they are expected to show no structural damage or at least nonsignificant damage.
