In the present research work, the study of seismic vulnerability in homes with a system contributed from the Geotechnical - Seismic point of view of the populated zone of Esperanza Alta - District of Esperanza - Province of Trujillo was developed. The populated zone of the Esperanza Alta presents a great doubt regarding its study of Geotechnical-Seismic vulnerability, this is due to the fact that the existing houses have not been built with the elaborated norm, and therefore, not There has been a qualified technical professional management during the construction process. In order to evaluate the Seismic - Geotechnical vulnerability of the area, the first job was to carry out 8 to 10 surveys to the owners of the respective dwellings of different sectors, with the purpose of knowing how is the reality of the existing buildings, obtaining as a result that many of the houses have been built informally through self-construction development. In the process of the surveys, elements such as the architectural distribution of the houses were explored, in order to know their geometry and to determine if there was skilled labor, the quality and types of materials of the structural elements used in the construction. The results of the survey file allowed us to evaluate the quality of the construction process and the materials used; thus determining that the zone has a high structural degree of seismic vulnerability. Regarding the behavior of the soil in the study area, it was based on the analysis of the soil through laboratory tests by means of a source or access to it and thus be able to carry out the geotechnical microzoning and know its main characteristics, such as the location of the water table, its carrying capacity by resistance and its carrying capacity by settlement; thus determining that the area has a good soil for potential constructions. And finally, a microzonification of hazards was carried out, obtaining as results that there are zones adjacent to the Leon ravine that greatly affects homes in the populated area of Esperanza Alta. These two studies, structural and geotechnical, give us the final result of the degree of Geotechnical-Seismic vulnerability.
