The car park and the population are growing year after year, due to this the studies done are becoming old and imprecise for the design of new road projects that can satisfy the population's need. For this reason, the need arose to carry out the present thesis project that aims to make a diagnosis of traffic and provide proposals for improvement to the problem of traffic and pedestrian traffic at the intersections signalized along the Avenue Los Incas in the Trujillo City. The present study was developed using the methodology given in the High Way Capacity Manual. In which were determined data such as, the greater vehicular and pedestrian intensity at peak hours, the types of vehicles that circulate, the width of the roads, the traffic light distribution, service levels and capacity. The results show that there are delays in vehicular travel between 1 to 2 minutes to pass each traffic light intersection on Avenue Los Incas. Generating congestion problems. In addition, the lack of vertical and horizontal signage, the excessive informal commerce that invades and limits the road infrastructure, makes Los Incas Avenue provide a terrible quality of service for the population. It was concluded that all the traffic lights intersected along the Los Incas Avenue, have the Vehicle Service Level F, which is considered the lowest level, because there is a great imbalance between the supply and demand of transport. And the Pedestrian Service Level oscillates between B and E, which is considered a regular-low level. Finally, some improvements are presented based on the analysis and results obtained in this thesis.
