With the objective of establishing the relationship between the prevalence of cesarean sections and their complications in pregnant women at the Tomas Lafora Hospital in Guadalupe in the period 2017 - 2021, a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, retrospective design review study was carried out. 323 clinical histories of the causes and complications of cesarean sections performed in that period. Results The epidemiological characteristics of the pregnant women were: adult age (80%), cohabiting marital status (74%), secondary education (57%) and type of cesarean section (58%) was emergency, the Prevalence of cesarean sections in pregnant women was of 49 per 100 births on average, the complications in pregnant cesarean women were CST anterior 2 times (24%), Cephalo-Pelvic Disproportion (14%) and CST anterior 1 time (13%), Concluding what the Prevalence of cesarean sections and their complications has been decreasing over the years in pregnant women at the Tomas Lafora Hospital in Guadalupe in the period 2017 – 2021.
