In order to determine the relationship between anxiety and the duration of labor in pregnant women who received emergency obstetric psychoprophylaxis 2019, a descriptive type of relationship research was carried out in a sample of 99 who entered the delivery room. of the obstetrics service of the General Hospital of Jaén. To whom a data collection sheet and the Zung anxiety self-assessment scale were applied. The results found show among the social characteristics: 40.4% of pregnant women aged between 18 to 20 years, 53.5% with secondary education, 90.9% with housewives and 78.8% of pregnant women with cohabiting marital status. 69.7% of the pregnant women participating in emergency obstetric psychoprophylaxis present moderate anxiety, 30.3% a duration of labor between 2 hours to 6 hours and 59 minutes, 71% from 7 hours to 11 hours and 59 minutes , 2%, between 12 hours to 16 hours and 59 minutes and 1% from 17 hours to 21 hours and 59 minutes. In relation to the duration of the expulsive period, in 38.4% of the pregnant women it was between 1 and 10 minutes, in 35.4% it was between 11 and 20 minutes, in 17.2% between 21 and 30 minutes, in 3.0% between 31 to 40 minutes, and in 6.1% it was between 41 and 52 min. It is concluded that there is a low relationship (P= 0.044) between the variables anxiety and total duration of labor.
