The purpose of this study is to stabilize the soil and improve the physical and mechanical properties of the natural soil to be used as an improved subgrade for the Pampas de Cochaya, Olaya-Mache - Otuzco - La Libertad road, to verify its effectiveness and performance of the chemical additives. The present investigation proved the improvements obtained by stabilizing soils, one of them was to improve the bearing capacity of the soil and another was to prove that the use of chemical additives allows a reduction in construction costs in relation to a traditional pavement structure. The methodology was based on the study of current regulations and technical specifications. In this way, the study of the subgrade will be carried out by means of field and laboratory tests, in the same way the quantities of chemical additives will be specified by carrying out tests with different proportions by means of trial and error, then the CBR test was carried out in order to specify the sinking resistance and in the same way the modified Proctor test was carried out with the objective of knowing the degree of wet density of the natural soil and of the soil with aggregation of chemical additives according to the road design manual. Next, a comparison of the results of the different CBR and modified Proctor tests was made, and the ideal quantities of chemical additives were determined, and then a comparative analysis was made according to the results obtained. In this way we can know how the granular base behaves with the addition of chemical additives and be able to know how much the road was improved. With this stabilization technique we propose the use of chemical additives in order to have an increase in the percentage of CBR in the soil, promoting the use of an economic option to use; such as a guide to future research on soil stabilization
