Introduction: The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is wreaking havoc on the population, although new cases in pregnant women are on the rise, there is still a wide field to be known in the obstetric population. Previous reports of MERS-CoV and SARSCoV infection suggest that pregnant women are particularly susceptible to severe disease and obstetric complications, however, current knowledge is scarce and limited on the implication of SARS-CoV-2 in pregnancy. Reviewing the current literature, there are conditions specific to each woman such as: severity of the clinical picture and obstetric complications related to the virus that could cause preterm labor. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate, based on the literature, whether SARS-CoV-2 infection is a risk factor for preterm delivery. Material and Methods: A systematic search was carried out in the following databases: Pubmed, Cochrane Library and Academic Google, which included all articles related to pregnant women infected by SARS-Cov-2 and their obstetric results. Relevant data were extracted that helped solve our study problems and were described in the results and conclusions. Results: 37 articles were reviewed and analyzed, 21 of which were selected based on study interest. Most of the studies described report pregnant women infected by SARSCoV-2 in the last trimester of pregnancy, with a mild clinical picture in most cases and certain severe cases dependent on risk factors such as: obesity and history complicated doctors. The majority of deliveries were by caesarean section, the most frequent obstetric complication being preterm delivery; as a consequence of indications dependent on: The severity of the clinical picture and associated obstetric complications: premature rupture of membranes, fetal distress and severe pre-eclampsia. Conclusions: The majority of pregnant women infected by SARS-Cov-2 in our study had preterm delivery as the most frequent adverse effect. The results of this study are important because in this way we will be helping to prevent this complication and as such have satisfactory results for the mother, as well as the newborn.
