To identify if Multiparity is a risk factor for severe Preeclampsia in patients of the José Soto Cadenillas Chota Hospital in the period December 2018 - November 2019. Material and Methods: An cohort retrospective study was carried out. The study population consisted of 146 pregnant patients The study population consisted of 146 pregnant patients, of which 64 developed severe preeclampsia and 82 developed mild pre-eclampsia, taking into account the established inclusion and exclusion criteria, distributed in two groups: Multiparous and non-Multiparous; the odds ratio and the chi square test were calculated. Results: The frequency of multiparous pregnant women who presented severe preeclampsia was 66%. The frequency of multiparous pregnant women with mild preeclampsia was 34%. Multiparity is a risk factor for severity of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women with an odds ratio of 1.98, which has been significant (p <0.05). By performing the multivariate analysis, obesity, hemoconcentration and multiparity were identified as risk factors for severity in preeclampsia, since they were significantly higher in the group of patients with severe preeclampsia than in the group with mild preeclampsia. Conclusions: Multiparity is a risk factor for severe pre-eclampsia in patients of the José Soto Cadenillas Chota Hospital in the period December 2018 - November 2019.
