To determine the prevalence of pneumatized maxillary sinus in panoramic radiographs of the radiological centers of the city of Trujillo, 2017-2018. Methodology: The study was transversal and observational, which consisted of 589 digital panoramic radiographs, of both sexes; having an age limit of 18 years to 60 years. The Chi-square test was used to evaluate the variables; non-parametric test that was used because most of the variables were qualitative. Result: The presence of pneumatization of the maxillary sinus was present in 35.8% of the panoramic radiographs evaluated, there was a greater presence in male patients with 43.5%. Patients with total edentulism had greater pneumatization of the maxillary sinus with 67.7% and 49.4% those who presented absence of 2 dental pieces. Conclusion: The prevalence of the pneumatized maxillary sinus in the radiological centers of Trujillo was 35.8%, being the masculine gender the most predominant. In addition, total edentulous patients with 2 or more missing teeth also presented pneumatization of the maxillary sinus.
