The present study was carried out with the objective of determining the psychometric properties of the Psychological Distress Scale (K10) in psychology students from a private university in Piura. The sample was made up of 369 psychology students over 18 years of age from I to X cycle. The type of research is technological and has an instrumental design. Regarding the analysis of items using the item-test method, adequate values were estimated in the 10 items of the unidimensional scale, with homogeneity indices that fluctuate between .632 and .743. Likewise, to estimate the validity of the construct, the confirmatory factor analysis was carried out, showing an adequate fit to the proposed theoretical model of a single dimension (χ²/gl: 2.0; RMSEA: .053; SRMR: .059; GFI: .997; AGFI: .992; CFI: .994; NFI: .987; RFI: .984) with optimal factor loadings that fluctuate between .63 and .80. In addition, the reliability of internal consistency will be extended by 3 different methods, reaching very optimal indices: Cronbach's Alpha (.916), Omega McDonald's (.916) and Two Halves (.911). Finally, percentile norms and cut-off points according to gender were developed. It is concluded that the Psychological Distress Scale (K10) has optimal psychometric characteristics admissible for its application in the sociodemographic context studied.
