The present investigation evaluated the influence of the percentage replacement of cement by bentonite in the A615 Steel Corrosion Potential embedded in concrete made with Type I Portland Cement and ICo Extraforte Cement. The reason for the research was to determine the optimal percentage that should be replaced by cement by bentonite in a concrete made with Portland type I cement and Extraforte cement ICo to reduce the probability of the existence of corrosion in steel embedded in concrete. The percentages of bentonite were 5%, 10% and 20% in replacement of cement for the A/C ratio = 0.50, 0.55 and 0.60. We prepared 48 test tubes of 10x20 centimeters, a 5/8 “diameter reinforcing steel rod with a length of 25cm was placed inside to evaluate the Corrosion Potential according to the ASTM C876-15 standard. The results obtained from the half-cell test according to the ASTM C876-15 standard for the specimens with relation A/C = 0.50, elaborated with Portland Cement Type I, shows that the lowest values of corrosion potential were obtained with the replacement of 10% cement per bentonite at 14 days of exposure. And for the specimens with relation A/C = 0.50 elaborated with Portland Cement Extraforte ICo, the half-cell test shows that the lowest values of corrosion potential were obtained with the replacement of 10% of cement per bentonite at 14 of exposure, it should be noted that the percentage of 5% replacement gives us excellent results. For the ratio A/C = 0.55, made with Portland Cement Type I, the half-cell test shows us that the results of the lowest values of corrosion potential were obtained with the replacement of 5% cement by bentonite at 14 days of exposure. And for the mixture made with Portland Extraforte ICo cement, the half-cell test shows that the results of the lowest values of corrosion potential were obtained with the replacement of 10% cement by bentonite at 14 days of exposure. For the ratio A/C = 0.60, made with Portland Cement Type I, the half-cell test shows that the results of the lowest values of corrosion potential were obtained with the replacement of 10% cement by bentonite at 14 days of exposure. And for the mixture made with Portland Extraforte ICo cement, the half-cell test shows us that the results of the lowest values of corrosion potential were obtained with the replacement of 5% cement by bentonite at 14 days of exposure.
