Objective: To study the nutritional status of the child and its association with the maternal characteristics in the Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa Piura 2018. Methodology: Analytical-Transversal type study of prospective-type non- probabilistic type and for convenience, with analysis of both primary and secondary data through clinical histories of and data record in the Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa Piura 2018. Results: A total of 212 data records (100%) were collected; the age group of mothers with greater presence comprised between 26-30 years (26.88% - 57 cases). Similarly, close to 50.47% (107 participants) showed the minimum monthly salary (S / .950); Regarding the children of the mothers addressed, we found that the majority was female (117 girls - 55.19%); thus also 27.83% presented weight ranges between 2500 to 2999 grams of weight, followed by values between 3000 to 3499 grams (44 cases / 20.75%) plus a considerable percentage between 1500 to 1999 grams (18 cases / 8.49%). we found real significance in the consigned parameters of the child's age RPa 2.56 (1.20-4.44) / P = 0.008; Age of the mother RPa 2.31 (1.20-3.44) / P = 0.039, Low birth weight RPa 1.75 (0.44-2.44) / P <0.001. Conclusion: The characteristics associated with nutritional status in children treated at the Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa in 2018 are the child's age, the mother's age, low income and finally the low birth weight of the child. /to.
