This investigation was carried out on the road that connects the towns of Felix Flores and Atahualpa, respectively, located in the department of Loreto; the road is 30 km long and is divided into two sections: Felix Flores - Km 15+000 (first section) and Km 15+000 - Atahualpa (second section). The main objective of this project is to carry out the Geometric and Structural Design of the first section; with the purpose of allowing the transfer of products with greater efficiency, for a greater economic development. First, we located the counting point where the vehicle data was collected, finding the incidence for each type of vehicle; finally, with the data collected, the IMDA was calculated. We then proceeded to develop the topographic study by performing the following procedures: creation of the main polygonal, transformation of UTM coordinates to topographic coordinates, placement of horizontal and vertical control points, leveling of points and topographic survey; obtaining as a result the surface of the area under study. The soil mechanics study was then carried out to determine the types of soils found on the road, such as gravel, sand, silt and clay; the CBR was also determined. Subsequently, we carried out the hydrological study to find the maximum precipitation using different methods. Likewise, the geometric design of the road was carried out with data obtained from the aforementioned studies and based normatively on the manuals of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Regarding the drainage study, structures and works of art longitudinal to the road were projected, since it will have precipitation runoff; also transversal works of art such as culverts for the passage of natural waters will be taken into account. Finally, we found the design ESAL and proceeded to structurally design the pavement according to the AASHTO 93 methodology for flexible pavement and rigid pavement.
