Autoestima en estudiantes universitarios de Psicología e Ingeniería de una Universidad Privada de Piura, 2021

Abstract

El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la diferencia dimensional de la escala de autoestima entre los estudiantes universitarios de psicología e ingeniería de una universidad privada de Piura, 2021. Estudio de tipo descriptivo, con un diseño cuantitativo comparativo. La muestra ha sido constituida por 328 universitarios de las carreras de psicología e ingeniería, a quienes se les administró el Inventario de Autoestima de Stanley Coopersmith adultos – forma “C”. Los resultados evidencian que no existe diferencias (p>0.05) entre los estudiantes de psicología e ingeniería, mostrando valores U de Mann Withney para las dimensiones Si mismo general (U=5135.000), social (U=5147.000) y la dimensión familiar (U=4252.000). Concluyendo que no existen diferencias significativas en la autoestima en estudiantes universitarios de psicología e ingeniería de una universidad privada de Piura, 2021.

The objective of the study was to determine the dimensional difference of the self-esteem scale among psychology and engineering university students from a private university in Piura, 2021. Descriptive study, with a comparative quantitative design. The sample was made up of 328 university students from psychology and engineering careers, who were administered the Stanley Coopersmith Adult Self-Esteem Inventory - form ““C““. The results show that there are no differences (p>0.05) between psychology and engineering students, showing Mann Whitney U values for the general Self dimensions (U=5135.000), social (U=5147.000) and the family dimension (U =4252,000). Concluding that there are no significant differences in self-esteem in psychology and engineering university students from a private university in Piura, 2021.
