In the field of health professionals, stress has become one of the most frequent syndromes in the world of work and even more so in nursing personnel. That is why the following study was carried out, which aimed to determine the relationship between socio-occupational factors: marital status, age, remuneration, paternity, years of work experience and the level of stress of the instrumentalist nursing professional at the Regional Institute of Oftalmology (IRO), Trujillo 2017. A descriptive, quantitative, cross sectional study of correlational design was carried out. The population consisted of 16 Nursing graduates who work in the IRO to whom the Socio-occupational Factors Questionnaire and the Stress Inventory for Health Professionals were applied. The results allowed us to conclude that there are socio-occupational factors associated with the level of stress of the instrumentalist nursing professional of the IRO. The factors that were highly associated were age and years of experience, those with a medium association were marital status and employment status; No association was found between paternity and remuneration, It is recommended that the institution, in coordination with the training office and the head of nurses, carry out educational programs so that the level of knowledge increases by more than 80% and thus reduces the level of stress.
