This thesis entitled: “ Comparative study of the structural design of pavement in the third stage of the Manuel Arévalo - La Esperanza - Trujillo - La Libertad sector “ seeks to carry out a comparative study for the structural design of flexible, semi-rigid and rigid pavement, to elaborate this we made use of the AASHTO 93 methodology and the recommendations of the “ Highways Manual: Soils, Geology, Geotechnics and Pavements - Soil and Pavement Section - RD N ° 10 - 2014 - MTC / 14 ’’ which allow us to carry out the different proposals for structural pavement design presented in the development of this research work. The problem presented indicates that Avenida “ F “ corresponding to the third stage of the Manuel Arévalo sector, does not have an adequate pavement structure in its entirety and the existing pavement structures in small sections are in terrible condition and cannot provide a correct walkability service that the study area needs, which presents a high vehicular demand made up mostly of light vehicles such as cars and trucks as well as heavy vehicles such as minibuses and trucks. In the analysis of the problems that affect the study area, it was decided to propose a structural design of the pavement subject to a comparative study, this includes the study of traffic in the study area, the study of soil mechanics of the same, the design of the flexible, semi-rigid and rigid pavement structural package using the AASHTO 93 methodology and the elaboration of the economic proposal corresponding to each design; all this done with the help of specialized programs that accurately and reliably determine the results. Finally, with this research we seek to provide an adequate and efficient proposal for a structural pavement design that can solve the problem of the study area in question.
