The following investigation will cover the consumption of information from the false news of students of the Antenor Orrego Private University of the Trujillo campus during the period 2021-20, on different platforms that generate confusion and alarm in the population. The present investigation was carried out in the city of Trujillo, specifically with the university students of this university. The purpose of the study is to determine the level of their consumption of fake news, given that during the last months of the period of social isolation it was observed that in general this population group consumes information many times without realizing the source that disseminates it. It will describe what their content search preferences are, what percentage of the information they read is verified, what portion of it is shared with their network of contacts, among others. And their level of consumption will be classified on a Likert scale to proceed with the discussion and analysis of the results. The results showed that the students of the Antenor Orrego Private University of the Trujillo campus, have an average consumption of fake news, consume and share it very frequently on social networks such as Facebook and WhatsApp and do not usually use verification tools or methods.
