The objective of this work is to analyze the influence of the incorporation of fiberglass, in different percentages, in the mortar used to repair fissures and cracks. In this investigation we carried out different tests comparing our new mixtures with fiberglass additives versus a standard mortar, without the addition of these fibers. The fiberglass that was used was added in doses of 100 grams and 300 grams of fiber per cubic meter of mortar. We obtained 3 mix designs, targeting a compressive strength of 210 kg/cm2 at 28 days. To reach the resistance objective f'c = 210 kg/cm2, a dosage of 0.52 water/cement was used, 7.30 bags of cement (42.5 kg in each bag), and 1401.6 kg of fine aggregate per m3 of mortar. First we started with the tests on the fresh mortar, which were the temperature and settlement tests, for the first we were guided by ASTM C1064, and our results were 23.7, 24.5 and 28.20 °C for the doses of 0, 100 and 300 g/m3 respectively. For the settlement we had an average of 97.37, 84.67 and 78.32 for the same doses already mentioned. Great emphasis was placed on the plastic contraction test, guided by ASTM C1579, where we found a total of 16 cracks, decreasing inversely proportional to the addition of fiberglass as an additive. From the analysis in the hardened state, we were able to notice the improvement in the results of the compression and flexion tests as soon as the percentage of fiberglass in the mixture increased, guided by the ASTM C109 and ASTM C293 standards, respectively. Finally, it was concluded that with the addition of 300 g/m3 fiberglass, better results were obtained in the mortar in the fresh state, thanks to its behavior against cracking, and in the mortar in the hardened state, due to the slight increase in its resistance to compression and bending. viii We were able to conclude that the dosage with the best performance was 300 g/m3 of fiberglass, because using this amount the plastic shrinkage was reduced by 47% and 16% compared to the standard mortar, the compressive strength increased by 4% with respect to the standard mortar and presented a correct manageability for its installation
