To determine the association between academic stress and depression in medical students during the pandemic. Method: An analytical cross-sectional observational study was carried out consisting of 380 medical students from the private university Antenor Orrego through a virtual survey. The severity of academic stress and the presence or absence of depression were determined using the SISCO SV Academic Stress Inventory and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-2), respectively. Results: 69.2% (18) students with mild stress, 85.2% (276) of students with moderate stress and 73.3% (22) of students with severe stress presented some degree of depression. In the bivariate analysis, a significant relationship was determined between academic stress and depression in human medicine students during the pandemic (p=0.000). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between academic stress and depression in human medicine students during the pandemic
