The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of dental caries, periodontal disease and the need for treatment in the schools of 6, 12 to 15 years of age of Educational Institution N ° 80821 Cesar Vallejo of La Esperanza district. The prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study was conducted as a population of 90 students; a sample of 30 students of each age was obtained. Which were selected by the simple random method. To obtain the results, the CPO-D and ceo-d index are used. To measure periodontal disease refers to the WHO Community Periodontal Index (IPC) The results show that the prevalence of dental caries is of 73.3% and of periodontal disease in school children of 12 and 15 years of age sampled 40% It has been found that 100% of schoolchildren examined, 261 treatments corresponding to the male sex and 410 treatments to the female sex. For males and females, the highest percentage of treatment was performed with sealants 151.7% (396 treatments) and 72.9% (299), followed by filling of 1 surface with 31.0% (81 treatments) and 14.9% (61 treatments), respectively.
