The aim of this research was to determine the prevalent gastrointestinal parasites in canines with owners in the province of Otuzco, and also to identify the associated factors. For this, 91 dogs were evaluated, under the following inclusion criteria: any breed, sex, age, not previously dewormed until a month ago, and that the owners agree to sign the informed consent. These were evaluated by collecting stool samples; which were then evaluated microscopically. The data obtained was processed by statistical analysis, using descriptive statistics; and the logistic regression model was applied to determine the relationship of the factors and the probability that individuals will be parasitized in the future. In addition, the Wald Chi square statistical test was applied to determine the significance of the statistical model applied and considering the value p < 0.05. It was found that 21.98% (20/91) of the dogs were positive for some parasitic form, with Coccidia being the most prevalent. Likewise, through logistic regression, it was possible to predict the probability that a male canine, with only external deworming, has a probability of 81.56% of presenting parasitism. Similarly, the association of factors with the lowest probability for the occurrence of parasitism is that of a male with internal deworming, with a probability of 4.12%. It is concluded that external deworming and sex are associated risk factors, and internal deworming is a protective factor for the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasitism.
