Valor predictivo del índice plaquetas/linfocitos para el diagnóstico de apendicitis aguda. Hospital Belén de Trujillo, 2015-2018

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar el valor predictivo del índice plaquetas / linfocitos (IPL) para el diagnóstico de apendicitis aguda (AA) en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo. Material y Métodos: Se desarrolló una investigación de tipo no experimental, observacional, retrospectiva, de pruebas diagnósticas en 252 pacientes apendicectomizados atendidos durante el período 2015- 2018, de los cuales 161 presentaron apendicitis aguda no complicada por informe de anatomopatología y 91 no presentaron apendicitis aguda por informe de anatomopatología. Se determinó la sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y valor predictivo negativo del IPL Resultados: El IPL tiene valor predictivo para el diagnóstico de AA no complicada en la población de nuestra investigación, con una sensibilidad del 75,2 %, una especificidad de 53,8 %, un valor predictivo positivo de 74,2 % y un valor predictivo negativo de 55,1 % del IPL para el diagnóstico de AA en el estudio realizado. Conclusión: El IPL presenta un valor predictivo alto para el diagnóstico de AA no complicada.

Objective: To determine the predictive value of the platelet / lymphocyte index (PLI) for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis (AA) in the Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo. Material and Methods: A non-experimental, observational, retrospective type of investigation was developed in 252 appendectomized patients attended during the period 2015-2018, of which 161 presented uncomplicated acute appendicitis due to a pathology report and 91 did not present acute appendicitis due to a pathology report. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the PLI were determined. Results: PLI has predictive value for the diagnosis of uncomplicated AA in the population of our research, and when applied could reduce the rate of appendicectomy patients without AA, with a sensitivity of 75.2%, a specificity of 53,8%, a positive predictive value of 74.2% and a negative predictive value of 55.1% of the IPL for the diagnosis of uncomplicated AA in the study performed. Conclusion: PLI presents a high predictive value for the diagnosis of uncomplicated AA.
