Objective: The objective of the study was to determine the frequency of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in front-line health personnel in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic during the period November 2020. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 232 health workers from the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital hired to work exclusively in the Covid area of said hospital during the period from November 7 to 25, 2020. Results: Health workers affected by post-traumatic stress disorder represent 16% of the total sample. 60% of them were represented by the female sex. The most affected age group were young adults between 25 and 29 years of age, representing 78% of those affected and, according to the type of health professional, 86% were made up of medical personnel. Conclusions: Post-traumatic stress disorder is present in 16 percent of the health personnel who work in the Covid area of the Trujillo Regional Hospital.
