In the present investigation the risks of the project have been identified: Improvement of the road traffic service of the Francisco de Zela street extension, in the city of Trujillo; and involved all the areas in charge of project execution, such as: project management, project control, technical office, quality, security, etc.; with the objective of describing the process of adequate risk management and opting for mitigation measures in order to contribute to the success of the project. The paralyzed works in the city of Trujillo, whether public or private, show the problem of having this type of studies, since it makes the plans more realistic when considering the uncertainty regarding the success of these. After following the methodology of the Project Mananget, it is concluded that the benefits of properly managing the risks in a project increase the possibility of success of the project, identify potential problems in the first stage of the project, achieve a common vision about the risks and achieve a improves prediction of results; in addition, to have a quantified list of the contingencies of the project.
