Demonstrate the association of the Platelet / Lymphocyte Ratio as a predictor of mortality in polytraumatized patients treated at the Belén Hospital in Trujillo. Material and methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was carried out in which 138 polytraumatized patients were included according to the selection criteria. Dividing the study population into 2 groups: deceased or survivors; and the chi square test and the prevalence ratio were applied. Results: Of the 138 polytraumatized patients, it was found that 113 patients survived and 25 patients died. When comparing the independent variables between living and deceased, age (p=0.035), prothrombin time (p=0.028) and Glasgow Coma Scale severity (p=0.001) were significantly higher in the deceased group (p< 0.05) and the best cut-off point was 120. The lymphocyte count was higher in deceased than in survivors, being 2500 ± 543 and 1973 ± 458 respectively. The best cut-off point for RPL, with clinical relevance, was found to be values of 120. In the multivariate analysis, the variables advanced age (p=0.041), increased prothrombin time (p=0.044), Glasgow scale less than or equal to 8 points (p=0.015) and the platelet/lymphocyte ratio (p=0.010) were factors statistically related to mortality in polytraumatized patients. Conclusion: The platelet/lymphocyte ratio is a factor related to mortality in polytraumatized patients treated at the Belén Hospital in Trujill
